The Crimson Tide quickly answered back with a two-run double from Brooke Ellestad to tie the game. However, an RBI single from Nadia Barbary in the sixth inning gave the Bulldogs the lead again, ultimately leading to Alabama’s defeat.
Despite the loss, there were some standout performances from players like Alexis Pupillo and Kali Hevilin, who each had two hits in the game. Heivilin also extended her hitting streak to seven games. Brooke Ellestad had two RBIs, bringing her total to nine multi-RBI games this season. Audrey Vandagriff extended her reached base streak to 18 games.
Alabama now has a 70-13 all-time record against Mississippi State, including a 35-5 mark in Tuscaloosa. The team’s next game will be against #10/10 Florida State on Wednesday, March 19th at 6 p.m. CT.
