Mike Jordan Elected Vice President of Mobile Division at Alabama Power
Mobile, AL – Mike Jordan has been elected as the new vice president of the Mobile Division at Alabama Power, a role in which he will spearhead community and economic development initiatives as well as external affairs in the southwest region of the state.
Having served as the area manager for the Southern Division since 2013, Jordan brings a wealth of experience and an external focus to his new position. He initially joined Alabama Power in 2008 as the legislative affairs manager, where he played a crucial role in shaping state energy policy before moving into his managerial role.
Jordan’s career includes significant public service experience, notably as a staff member for former Governor Fob James and as a public information officer for the Alabama House of Representatives. His extensive engagement in local development is underscored by his participation in various economic-focused organizations across Butler, Chilton, and Montgomery Counties. Jordan’s leadership has also recently earned him the position of chair of the Region 5 Regional Workforce Development Board.
In addition to his professional duties, Jordan is actively involved in numerous nonprofit organizations. His contributions extend to the American Red Cross of Central Alabama, where he served as past chair, the Baptist Health Foundation, the Boy Scouts of America – Tukabatchee Council, the Freedom Rides Museum Board, and the Ingram State Community College Foundation Advisory Board.
Jordan graduated from Samford University with degrees in history and political science, and he holds a master’s degree in public administration from Troy University. His background positions him well to lead Alabama Power’s initiatives aimed at driving economic growth and community development in the region.
