Man in New Mexico receives $412 million settlement for failed injections.

A man in New Mexico was awarded over $412 million in a medical malpractice case against a men’s health clinic that operates in multiple states. The lawsuit alleged that the clinic engaged in fraudulent practices and administered dangerous penile injections that caused irreversible damage to the man. This case is the largest amount to ever be awarded by a jury in a medical malpractice case in the U.S.

The plaintiff’s attorneys celebrated the verdict, stating that they hope it will prevent other men from falling victim to similar schemes. They emphasized the breach of trust and fiduciary duty by licensed professionals who defraud patients for financial gain, particularly in a medical setting.

The trial in Albuquerque detailed how the man was misdiagnosed and treated unnecessarily with invasive erectile dysfunction shots that resulted in irreversible harm. The lawsuit accused NuMale Medical Center and its officials of setting up a fraudulent scheme to exploit older men for financial gain.

The president of NuMale Medical Center, Brad Palubicki, stated that the company remains focused on providing responsible patient care while upholding safety and compliance standards at all facilities. The company has clinics in several states, and while respecting the legal process, they could not comment on specific details of the case.

Overall, jurors found the defendants guilty of fraudulent, negligent, and unconscionable conduct that led to damages for the plaintiff, violating the Unfair Practices Act. This case serves as a warning against medical professionals engaging in fraudulent practices at the expense of patients’ health and well-being.
