Local Film Production Making Headlines in News 5 Area

The Mobile area is currently a hot spot for Hollywood films, with three movies being filmed in the area in recent weeks. These include a rom-com titled “Red, White, and You,” a faith-based documentary called “That They May Become One,” and a World War II film titled “Raid Pacific.” The film crew has been working at locations such as Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island.

In addition to these current productions, Mobile has previously been chosen as the backdrop for several movies in the past. These include the romantic Christian drama “I Still Believe,” parts of which were filmed on the campus of Spring Hill College and locations in Dauphin Island, Fairhope, and Gulf Shores. The horror franchise “Final Destination” filmed a scene at Mobile International Speedway, and action thriller “Heist (2015)” was also shot in the area.

Big stars such as Alice Cooper, Nicholas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Liam Hemsworth, John Malkovich, Vince Vaughn, Bruce Willis, and Halle Berry have all worked on projects in Mobile. The city’s appeal for filmmakers and actors continues to grow, with many more projects in the works.

In addition to the film industry boom, the Mobile area is also seeing growth in other sectors, such as the construction of the largest hotel in Gulf Shores. With so much excitement happening in the area, residents and visitors alike have much to look forward to.
