Crafted Hotel and Club Brand Set to Debut in East Sussex by Late 2025
East Sussex, UK – Lifestyle hotel and club brand Crafted, founded by Chris King, co-founder of the Birch hotel concept, is poised to launch its first property, Crafted at Powdermills, in late 2025. Nestled around a scenic seven-acre private lake, this Georgian Grade II-listed country house promises a unique retreat designed to harmonize with nature.
The hotel will feature 55 elegantly designed rooms and suites, created in collaboration with House of Dré. In addition to the main hotel, Crafted at Powdermills will offer three standalone cottages, each accommodating three to five guests and providing kitchen diners, living spaces, and private amenities. The standout accommodation, the Lake House, boasts a private garden and outdoor pool with direct lake access, enhancing the guest experience.
Crafted emphasizes a strong connection to art and creativity, with dedicated spaces such as the Craft Barn and Art Studio, where guests can engage in arts-based activities like ceramics and printmaking. Culinary offerings will focus on locally sourced British ingredients, aiming for 75% of the menu to feature such produce. The hotel’s dining options will include an all-day pub with an outdoor grilling area and a wood-fired pizza oven, with an executive chef yet to be announced.
Reflecting on the brand’s vision, King stated, “Crafted at Powdermills is just the beginning. Over the coming years, Crafted will grow into a network of life-friendly hotels and clubs across the UK and beyond, each uniquely attuned to its environment.”
As Crafted prepares for its launch, excitement builds for a hospitality experience that promises to blend modern living with a deep respect for nature and creativity.
