Former Auburn Running Back Jarquez Hunter Signs NFL Contract with Los Angeles Rams

Former Auburn University running back Jarquez Hunter has officially signed his first NFL contract with the Los Angeles Rams. Selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on April 26, Hunter was the 117th pick overall. He has inked a four-year deal valued at $5.197 million.

During his impressive college career at Auburn, Hunter accumulated 3,371 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on 539 carries, alongside 68 receptions for 558 yards and four touchdowns. He stands fourth in Auburn’s all-time rushing list, showcasing his standout performance as a reliable offensive player. In his senior season, Hunter logged 1,201 yards and eight touchdowns, highlighted by a remarkable game against Kentucky where he rushed for 278 yards—the fourth-highest single-game total in Auburn history.

In the Rams’ current roster, Kyren Williams leads the running game, having achieved back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, including 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2024. However, the Rams faced challenges with depth at the running back position last season, as no other player recorded more than 58 carries.

The Rams are currently in Phase 3 of their offseason program, with initial practices wrapping up as they prepare for the next stage leading into training camp.
