Alabama Weather Update: Dry Spell Continues, Rain Expected Saturday Night
Alabama is set to enjoy another sunny and cool day on Friday, with temperatures fluctuating in the 50s. Tonight, clear skies will bring colder temperatures, leading to lows predominantly in the 30s, with some areas potentially experiencing a freeze. According to meteorologist James Spann, Saturday will maintain dry conditions, with highs reaching between 58 and 63 degrees. However, clouds will increase in the afternoon, bringing the possibility of rain for the northern regions of the state by Saturday night.
The forecast for Sunday suggests that most of Alabama will remain dry, although light showers may linger in the Tennessee Valley. Highs are expected to be in the low to mid 60s. Looking ahead to next week, Monday is anticipated to be the warmest day, with temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 60s, before the possibility of showers returns Monday night and again later in the week. Tuesday and Wednesday will see temperatures in the low to mid 60s, followed by a drop to upper 50s on Thursday and low 50s by Friday.
As the holiday season approaches, Spann notes that while long-range forecasts are uncertain, temperatures are expected to remain near average for late December. On Christmas Day, highs are projected to be in the 50s with lows in the 30s, and it is highly unlikely that snow will make an appearance.
