Jalen Milroe Signs Rookie Contract with Seattle Seahawks
Seattle, WA – The Seattle Seahawks have officially welcomed quarterback Jalen Milroe to their roster, as he signed his rookie contract on Tuesday, marking a significant step in his professional career.
"I’m tremendously happy that I have the support of the organization," Milroe expressed following the contract signing. "To be selected out of all the individuals in the draft means a lot. Now, it’s about putting our best foot forward for the organization and for my teammates."
Milroe was selected in the 3rd round of the 2025 NFL Draft, coming in at 92nd overall. His journey began at Alabama, where he spent his first two seasons as a backup to Heisman-winning quarterback Bryce Young. Transitioning to a starting role in 2023, Milroe shone brightly, finishing sixth in Heisman Trophy voting as the Crimson Tide captured the SEC Championship and made a run to the College Football Playoff.
Despite a promising start, Milroe faced challenges in the 2024 season, opting to stay with Alabama under new coach Kalen DeBoer. Unfortunately, the team failed to secure a CFP berth even with an expanded field from four to twelve teams.
Now, with the Seahawks, Milroe joins a quarterback room that includes former first-round pick Sam Darnold and Drew Lock, following the trade of Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders. Milroe’s arrival adds a new dimension to Seattle’s offensive strategy as they look to build on past successes.
As Milroe embarks on this new chapter, Seahawks fans eagerly await what the future holds for the talented young quarterback in the Pacific Northwest.
