Jalen Milroe from Alabama Football Named 2024 Campbell Trophy Recipient


Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has been awarded the prestigious 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, presented by the National Football Foundation. The award recognizes Milroe for his outstanding achievements in academics, football performance, and leadership. As the winner, Milroe will receive a $25,000 postgraduate scholarship along with the prestigious trophy. He is only the second player in Alabama history to receive this honor, following Barrett Jones in 2012.

Milroe, a redshirt junior, has been a key player for Alabama, helping the team to two College Football Playoff appearances and two SEC championships. He has accumulated a total of 77 touchdowns during his time with the Crimson Tide, showcasing his skill both as a passer and a rusher. In addition to his on-field success, Milroe has excelled academically, graduating cum laude with a 3.52 GPA in December 2023. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport management and has been recognized for his academic achievements on multiple occasions.

Outside of academics and football, Milroe is actively involved in community service efforts, volunteering his time both in Tuscaloosa and his hometown of Katy, Texas. He has also represented Alabama at various student-athlete leadership events. Overall, Milroe’s well-rounded achievements have earned him the title of the best scholar-athlete in the nation for 2024.
