TV presenter Dean McCullough has already made an impact on the 2024 season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! by cracking a “hilarious” joke about fellow campmate Coleen Rooney’s “Wagatha Christie” trial. The first episode of the season saw the contestants, including celebrities like Tulisa Contostavlos and Alan Halsall, take on challenges and viewers voted GK Barry to participate in the next Bushtucker Trial, Vile Volcano.
ITV announced that the season premiere was watched by a peak of eight million viewers, with an average of seven million tuning in, making it the biggest overnight audience for ITV this year outside of sporting events. Although the numbers were on par with last year’s launch, they were down from the previous year.
Fans of the show were treated to a surprise cameo from comedian Peter Kay during an advertisement break, and there was uproar over the absence of the celebrities’ phone numbers on their T-shirts for voting purposes. N-Dubz star Tulisa has emerged as an early fan favorite in the camp, while TV presenter Rylan has come to her defense against criticism.
As the season progresses, viewers can expect more drama, challenges, and surprises from the contestants as they vie for the title of King or Queen of the Jungle. With viewing figures holding steady and a star-studded cast, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is poised to keep audiences entertained night after night.
