The Sunset Committee has also consolidated or eliminated numerous boards and commissions to reduce waste. Republican leadership is focused on cutting taxes, reducing waste, and ensuring government works for the people.
Representative Danny Garrett, who chairs the House Ways and Means Education Committee, emphasizes that Alabama already has a “Department” of Government Efficiency in the form of Republican leadership. The Legislature’s work continues in the current session, with a focus on additional measures to improve government efficiency. Alabama has transformed its financial situation over the past 15 years under Republican control, setting a strong foundation for future progress and economic growth.
