Final episode of long-standing show ‘Around the Horn’ to air on ESPN on specified date

ESPN has announced that the long-running sports debate show, Around the Horn, will come to an end after over two decades on the air. The final episode is set to air on May 23 at 5 p.m. ET, marking the end of a successful run that began on Nov. 4, 2002.

Tony Reali has been the host of the show since 2004, leading discussions with a rotating panel of prominent sports writers and commentators. The show’s success can be attributed to the ensemble of on-air contributors as well as the production team led by Erik Rydholm and Aaron Solomon, according to ESPN Executive Vice President David Roberts.

Following the conclusion of Around the Horn, ESPN plans to fill the 5 p.m. ET weekday block with a 30-minute edition of SportsCenter during the summer. The show has aired over 4,900 episodes, providing viewers with engaging sports content and discussions since its debut.

Fans of the show took to social media to express their sadness over its impending end, highlighting the impact that Around the Horn has had on the sports media landscape. As the final episode approaches, viewers can look forward to celebrating the show’s many accomplishments before bidding farewell to a beloved sports debate program.
