The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards showcased Coach’s commitment to sustainable fashion through its Coachtopia initiative, which won the Innovation Award sponsored by Amazon Fashion. Creative Director Stuart Vevers accepted the award, emphasizing Coach’s focus on circularity and sustainable design.
During the event, global ambassador Charles Melton and other celebrities like Kelsea Ballerini, Coco Jones, Ella Emhoff, and GloRilla showcased custom Coach looks made from upcycled or repurposed materials by Vevers. Each piece reflected Coach’s heritage of craftsmanship and dedication to reducing environmental impact through intentional design practices.
Melton’s ensemble featured an oversized suede coat, vest, and trousers crafted from vintage suede jackets and pants, blending classic garments with modern styling. Ballerini wore a shirting dress made from heritage materials, creating a home-crafted aesthetic. Jones rocked a tuxedo dress crafted from vintage leather jackets, showing how sustainable fashion can still exude luxury. Emhoff’s eclectic look, with a signature oversized bow and repurposed materials, added a quirky charm to the lineup.
GloRilla brought an edge with a repurposed leather moto Coach jacket, but the accompanying bralette and boyshorts fell short compared to the iconic jacket. Overall, Coach’s innovative approach to sustainable fashion at the CFDA Fashion Awards showcased a blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and environmental consciousness in the fashion industry.
