Alabama Football Secures Impressive 2025 Recruiting Class
Tuscaloosa, AL — The Alabama Crimson Tide football program, under the leadership of head coach Kalen DeBoer, has successfully pulled off one of the most remarkable recruiting classes for the 2025 cycle. The class features elite talent across multiple positions, from the dynamic five-star quarterback Keelon Russell (Duncanville, TX) to key additions on the offensive line and a strong defensive lineup.
Despite Russell’s standout status as the top recruit, it appears that incumbent quarterback Ty Simpson holds a firm grasp on his starting position going into the season, according to offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.
Alabama’s receiving corps has significantly bolstered with the addition of four-star prospects Derek Meadows (Bishop Gorman HS, NV) and Lotzeir Brooks (Millville HS, NJ), along with transfer Isaiah Horton from Miami. The Crimson Tide’s recruiting efforts have landed them a No. 3 spot nationally according to 247Sports and On3, with ESPN ranking them fourth.
ESPN recently highlighted Brooks as Alabama’s top newcomer for the upcoming season. The analyst Billy Tucker noted Brooks’ remarkable high school achievements, including setting New Jersey’s state record for receiving yards and touchdowns. Having made an early arrival in Tuscaloosa, Brooks has impressed during spring practices, especially as a slot receiver.
Tucker emphasized Brooks’ potential to become a significant contributor alongside fellow receivers Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard, praising his quickness, route-running ability, and skill in creating separation. Brooks may also showcase his versatility as a punt returner.
Alabama’s 2025 season kicks off against Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium on August 30, setting the stage for an exciting year ahead.
