98 Alabama Student-Athletes Graduate This Weekend

The University of Alabama is proud to announce that 98 student-athletes will graduate this weekend, earning a total of 99 degrees comprising 76 bachelor’s and 23 master’s degrees. This impressive group includes three Olympians, an NCAA champion, eight All-Americans, 21 Southeastern Conference (SEC) champions, and 13 All-SEC honorees.

The graduating class features athletes notable for their contributions to significant team achievements, including College Football Playoff semifinal runs, a men’s basketball Final Four appearance, and women’s soccer’s College Cup berth. Their accomplishments also extend to securing SEC Championships across various sports, including men’s and women’s cross country, football, and soccer.

Among the standout graduates are NCAA Singles Champion Filip Planinsek from men’s tennis, Grant Nelson from men’s basketball, who earned recognition on the NCAA West Region All-Tournament Team, and women’s basketball players Sarah Ashlee Barker and Zaay Green, both of whom were selected in the recent WNBA Draft.

The overall number of student-athletes graduating this academic year has reached 133, including 35 graduates from the fall semester. The total is anticipated to grow further with the upcoming summer commencement.
