The American Legion Post #43 recently made a generous $200 donation to the Shop with a Cop program in Atlantic. In a ceremony, members Vince Ehlert, Dave Hancock, Korey Konken, Charles Harman, Steve Livengood, Leonard Kinney, and Ryan Graham presented the donation to Atlantic Police Chief Devin Hogue. This donation will help fund the upcoming Family Dreams Christmas Program on Dec. 21 and the Shop with a Cop program on Dec. 22.
The Shop with a Cop program is an initiative where police officers take children from low-income families shopping for holiday gifts. This program not only brings joy to these children during the holiday season but also helps strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community.
The Family Dreams Christmas Program, organized by Atlantic Police Officer and Atlantic Police Reserves, aims to provide gifts and holiday cheer to families in need. Through donations like the one from the American Legion Post #43, these programs are able to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those less fortunate during the holiday season.
The support from the community, organizations like the American Legion Post #43, and the dedication of the Atlantic Police Department are crucial in making these programs successful. Together, they are working to ensure that every child and family in Atlantic can experience the joy and magic of the holiday season.
