An American Airlines plane, Flight 1006, en route from Colorado Springs to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was diverted to Denver International Airport after reporting engine vibrations. The Boeing 737-800 landed safely, but the engine caught fire as it taxi to the gate. Passengers evacuated using the slides, with 172 passengers and six crew members on board. Twelve people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries. Video on social media shows the plane engulfed in smoke at the gate, with passengers evacuating onto a wing and crew members hosing down the aircraft.
