The Dallas Cowboys and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have reached a four-year, $136 million contract agreement, making him the second highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The deal includes $100 million in guaranteed money, ending a contentious negotiation between the two sides. Lamb, a three-time Pro Bowler, held out of training camp and preseason games to secure the new contract, entering his fifth-year option of his rookie deal from 2017. He has been productive for the Cowboys, setting team records with 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023. In his career, Lamb has 395 receptions for 5,145 yards and 32 touchdowns. With Lamb secured, the Cowboys will shift their focus to negotiating a new deal with quarterback Dak Prescott, who is entering the final year of his contract. If an agreement is not reached, Prescott could become a free agent. Dallas opens its regular season against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8.
