Dallas Cowboys Complete Offseason Program, Focus on Rookie Tyler Booker
The Dallas Cowboys have wrapped up their offseason program and are gearing up for training camp in Oxnard, California, next month. A key focus for the Cowboys as they prepare for the 2025 season, which begins on September 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, is integrating first-round draft pick Tyler Booker into the offensive line at right guard. This move comes in the wake of the retirement of seven-time All-Pro Zack Martin.
Booker, selected 12th overall from Alabama, expressed excitement about his journey so far. “I really couldn’t ask for a better room of vets,” he said, crediting teammates like Terence Steele and Tyler Guyton for their guidance. Transitioning from college to the NFL, Booker noted that the preparation received at Alabama helped him feel ready for the challenges ahead.
The 21-year-old rookie highlighted the importance of understanding both offensive and defensive strategies, emphasizing the value of having experienced teammates nearby. He called Steele a resource, acknowledging his role in helping him adjust to the pro game. Booker is committed to ensuring he does not slow down the offense, dedicating himself to mastering the playbook.
Despite the loss of Martin, the Cowboys’ offensive line has some experience, including returning starters like Tyler Smith and new additions Guyton and center Cooper Beebe.
The Cowboys are looking forward to a competitive season under new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. “We’re building great chemistry,” Booker remarked, hopeful about the progress of the young offensive line as they head into training camp.
As the Cowboys set their sights on the upcoming season, the spotlight remains on how Booker and the revamped line will perform without their longtime anchor, Zack Martin.
