Corey Chest, former LSU player, chooses Ole Miss in the SEC

LSU transfer Corey Chest has announced that he will be continuing his college basketball career at Ole Miss. The 6-8, 220-pound forward from New Orleans redshirted in the 2023-24 season and played in 26 games as a freshman at LSU in the 2024-25 season, averaging 6.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Ole Miss fans will remember Chest from a game in February where he scored 5 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a win against the Rebels. With three years of eligibility remaining, Chest is expected to make an impact on the 2025-26 Ole Miss squad.

The transfer was announced on social media by Tobias Bass on April 6, 2025, and includes a highlight video of Chest’s playing style. This move brings Chest back to his roots in the SEC, where he will now be playing for Ole Miss under the leadership of coach Chris Beard.

As Chest prepares to join the Ole Miss team, fans and analysts eagerly anticipate his contributions on the court. With his size, scoring ability, and solid rebounding skills, Chest is poised to make a significant impact in the SEC. Ole Miss supporters can look forward to seeing him in action in the upcoming season and beyond.
