Chris Stewart announces official sideline reporter for Alabama football broadcasts

Former Alabama and NFL standout, Damion Square, will be serving as the permanent sideline reporter for the Crimson Tide Sports Network. Chris Stewart, the Voice of the Crimson Tide, made the announcement on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 in Mobile. Square, who was part of three national championships during his playing time at Alabama from 2008-2012, will start his role with the season opener against Western Kentucky.

Initially, the network had announced former Alabama player Damien Harris as the new sideline reporter, but he decided to pursue another opportunity just a week later. Harris will now be working as an analyst for College Football Pregame, a show that will stream on CBS Sports HQ each Saturday morning. Stewart expressed excitement about having Square join the team, praising his enthusiasm and desire to be back with his school and program.

This move will see Square returning to Bryant-Denny Stadium, where he once played as a defensive lineman, to provide insight and analysis from the sidelines. The transition to a new permanent sideline reporter comes as the Crimson Tide Sports Network prepares for the upcoming college football season. The addition of Square is testament to the network’s commitment to providing in-depth coverage and expert commentary for fans of the Crimson Tide.
