United Way’s Celebrity Scoopers Fundraiser Rolls Out Across Ohio Valley
WHEELING, WV — The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley has announced the return of its beloved Celebrity Scoopers fundraiser, presenting an exciting new twist: the event will now travel to various locations throughout the Ohio Valley.
From June 3 to June 27, local celebrities will take turns scooping ice cream at multiple venues, all while supporting the United Way’s mission to aid local families and community programs. This mobile scoopathon promises to be a fun and delicious way for community members to get involved.
The event kicks off on June 3 at Flurry’s Ice Cream and Sweets in Moundsville from noon to 3 p.m. It continues with scooping events at Fun in the Ville in Barnesville on June 5, Stalder’s Family Creamery in New Martinsville on June 13, Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream in St. Clairsville from June 18-20, and wraps up at Waterfront Hall in Wheeling on June 27 from noon to 3 p.m.
“Each scoop served helps build stronger communities across the Upper Ohio Valley,” said Staci Stephen, executive director of the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley.
This year’s event is made possible thanks to sponsors like Visit Wheeling, Edward Jones, Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream, and others. The United Way remains grateful for its year-round partners, including WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and Reynolds Memorial Hospital, among others.
With all proceeds benefiting local programs, this fundraiser is an opportunity to enjoy sweet treats, meet local celebrities, and contribute to improving lives in the region.
