Alabama National Guard Appoints Casey Rogers as Deputy Director of External Affairs and Strategic Communication

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama National Guard (ALNG) has officially welcomed Casey Rogers as its new Deputy Director of External Affairs and Strategic Communication. Rogers, who previously held the role of External Affairs Director for Governor Kay Ivey, brings a wealth of experience to her new position.

Major General David Pritchett, the Adjutant General of the ALNG, praised Rogers for her extensive background in fostering strong partnerships, underscoring the necessity of effective connections between the ALNG personnel and leaders across various sectors to tackle the dynamic threats facing the state.

During her tenure in the Governor’s Office, Rogers served as the main federal and defense liaison, where she played a crucial role in policy development, legislative relations, stakeholder management, and strategic communication. Notably, she worked with the ALNG to enhance military-to-military relations with Romania, expanding this collaboration into broader governmental cooperation. This initiative also involved an educational exchange scheduled for 2024 between Auburn University’s College of Agriculture and Romania’s University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine.

A University of Alabama graduate with dual degrees, Rogers is recognized for her commitment to leadership, having participated in the Leadership Alabama Initiative and served as a Fellow with the Council of State Governments. Her previous roles include key positions in policy and communication with the Alabama Farmers Federation and former U.S. Representative Martha Roby.

Rogers’s appointment marks a significant transition in her career, allowing her to further strengthen ties between the Alabama National Guard and the civilian community, enhancing collaboration for the benefit of the state.
