McInnis Addresses Harassment Case Amid Campaign for Agriculture Commissioner
In light of Clate Clark’s guilty plea to stalking and harassment charges in Baldwin County, Christina Woerner McInnis, a candidate for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries, has issued a powerful statement highlighting her recent experiences with harassment.
Clark, who pleaded guilty on Tuesday and received a 90-day sentence, had targeted McInnis and other women through over 27 fake online profiles, escalating to threats of violence that prompted investigations by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, Orange Beach Police Department, and the FBI. McInnis has since secured a restraining order against him.
In her statement, McInnis reflected on the darker side of politics, saying, “Politics — the good, the bad… and the ugly. Today was ugly. A predator threatened me and my children, and I learned he has done the same to many other women.” She emphasized her decision to protect her family and expressed gratitude for the support she received from law enforcement throughout this ordeal.
McInnis’s aim is not only to find justice for her family but also to encourage other women experiencing harassment to come forward, reinforcing the crucial role law enforcement plays in safeguarding families. A businesswoman and farmer from Baldwin County, she announced her 2026 campaign earlier this year, advocating for rural communities and family farms while calling for modernized agricultural practices in Alabama.
With grassroots support and a commitment to connecting with local farmers, McInnis is determined to fight for justice, courage, and family values as she navigates her campaign. She believes that overcoming challenges like her recent experience will resonate with voters and emphasize the importance of integrity in Alabama politics.
