Caleb Nix, Transfer Defensive Back and Brother of Bo Nix, Commits to Alabama Program

Caleb Nix Transfers from Clemson to Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, AL – Caleb Nix, the younger brother of Denver Broncos quarterback and former Auburn star Bo Nix, announced his transfer from Clemson University to Jacksonville State University via social media on Monday. Nix, who walked on as a safety at Clemson, has chosen the Conference USA program in Jacksonville, Alabama, to further his college football career.

Following visits to both Jacksonville State and Appalachian State, Nix decided to join Jacksonville State, a program fresh off a successful season in which it won the conference title with a 7-1 record and an overall 9-5 mark. This move marks a return to Alabama for the Phenix City native, who excelled as a high school quarterback. During his time at Central High School, Nix led his team to the Class 7A state championship game, amassing over 5,400 total yards and 67 touchdowns while earning all-state honors.

At Clemson, Nix, now a redshirt junior, saw limited action, participating in only 10 games and recording one assisted tackle last season against Florida Atlantic University. By transferring to Jacksonville State, he aims to capture more playing time and make an impact in Conference USA compared to his experience in the ACC.

In his announcement, Nix expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter ahead, posting "Excited to get to work!" Alongside his announcement, he conveyed his eagerness to contribute to the successful program at Jacksonville State, as he transitions back to his home state.

Caleb Nix’s journey continues as he strives to carve out a more prominent role in college football, with fans and coaches alike excited to witness his progress.
