Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson is set to host the 7th Annual Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic at the Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert next month. The event, scheduled for May 18-19, will bring together A-list celebrities, sports figures, and entertainment industry icons for two days of golf, philanthropy, and celebration in support of nonprofit organizations that uplift children, young adults, and adults in the areas of health, wellness, faith, and mentorship.
Confirmed celebrity participants include Don Cheadle, Cedric the Entertainer, Alex English, and many more. The tournament benefits the Anderson Family Foundation, co-founded by Anderson and his wife, Alvina Anderson, to help the inner city and those in need of assistance.
Anderson, known for his role on “Blackish,” reflects on his upbringing in Watts and Compton and the values instilled in him by his parents. These experiences have inspired him to work with organizations dedicated to educating and mentoring youth.
The event will kick off with a VIP Welcome Reception & Pairings Party on May 18, featuring dinner, entertainment, live and silent auctions, and a cigar lounge for guests to mingle with celebrity participants. The following day, the golf tournament will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude with an awards celebration at 3:30 p.m.
The Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic promises to be a star-studded event that combines entertainment with giving back to the community.
