Joshua Riibes, an American individual, has had his passport confiscated by Dominican authorities in connection to the disappearance of University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki. Riibes may have been the last person to see Konanki before she went missing on March 6 in Punta Cana while on spring break with friends. Riibes has been cooperating with authorities and has been confined to his hotel under police escort since the investigation began. He has expressed a desire to help in the search for Konanki and mentioned the dangers of the ocean. The Dominican Republic’s national police have not provided any comments on the matter. This case is still under investigation and Riibes’ involvement is being closely scrutinized by authorities.
