ASU Joins Leading HBCUs in Offering Cannabis Certifications

Alabama State University recently made history by becoming one of the first Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs) in the nation to offer cannabis education programs as elective study courses. Partnering with Green Flower, a cannabis education and training company, ASU now offers five online courses on various aspects of cannabis, including healthcare, agriculture, business, compliance, and product development. These courses are designed to educate individuals interested in working in the legal cannabis industry.

The state of Alabama recently legalized cannabis for specific medical conditions, making it the 36th state in the country to do so. While the specifics of the new law are still being finalized, ASU’s cannabis education programs represent a growing interest and acceptance of cannabis-related studies in academic institutions.

ASU joins Jacksonville State University as one of only two schools in Alabama to offer courses related to legalized cannabis. Interested individuals can contact ASU’s office of Academic Affairs to learn more about enrolling in these groundbreaking courses.

With the cannabis industry rapidly expanding nationwide, ASU’s new programs provide students with valuable knowledge and skills to succeed in this evolving field. By offering these courses, ASU continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation, diversity, and providing opportunities for students to excel in emerging industries.
