Bridge safety has seen significant improvement statewide, with the number of structurally deficient bridges decreasing from 213 in 2007 to just 60 by 2024. Major projects like the I-10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway in Mobile County, funded by a $550 million federal grant, have further advanced the state’s infrastructure.
Despite these achievements, the potential changes in weight limits for log trucks pose a threat to road quality and safety.
