Woman Arrested in Alabama After Allegedly Shooting Husband in Troup County
ATLANTA, Ga. — A woman was taken into custody in Alabama following an alleged shooting incident involving her husband in Troup County, according to local authorities.
Tracy Lynn White, 48, stands accused of shooting her 47-year-old husband in the head at their residence on Chipley Mountville Road. The Troup County Sheriff’s Office reported that emergency responders were dispatched to the home at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Monday, where they discovered the man bleeding from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition as of Thursday morning.
On Wednesday, investigators officially charged White with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and aggravated stalking. Authorities stated that the stalking charge stems from a prior arrest for aggravated assault with family violence in July.
White was apprehended in Lee County, Alabama, on Thursday and is set to be extradited back to Georgia to face the charges. The incident has raised concerns about domestic violence in the community, prompting a renewed discussion on support services for victims and the potential risks posed by escalated tensions in domestic situations.
