Teen Arrested Following High-Speed Chase in Priceville, Alabama
PRICEVILLE, Ala. – A dramatic high-speed chase concluded late Saturday night with the arrest of a 19-year-old from North Alabama. According to the Priceville Police Department, the incident began around 11:00 p.m. when officers spotted a silver pickup truck speeding southbound on I-65.
When police attempted to perform a traffic stop, the driver, identified as Jeremiah Hawke McLemore of Lester, refused to comply, prompting a pursuit. McLemore drove recklessly, using the shoulder of the interstate to pass other vehicles and discarding items from the truck during the chase. Authorities reported that he narrowly avoided two potential collisions as the chase progressed.
The pursuit came to an end at the Thompson Road exit when Falkville Police deployed spike strips, successfully bringing the truck to a halt. McLemore was taken into custody without further incident, and a juvenile passenger was released to a guardian at the scene.
McLemore now faces multiple charges, including felony counts of attempting to elude law enforcement, driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, possession of brass knuckles, and criminal littering. His bond has been set at $7,200.
