Alabama Secures Commitment from 2025 Big Man Collins Onyejiaka

In a significant boost for its 2025 recruiting class, the Alabama Crimson Tide has landed Collins Onyejiaka, a promising 6-foot-10 center from The Newman School in Boston, Massachusetts. The commitment, announced Friday by Travis Branham of 247 Sports, is particularly noteworthy as Onyejiaka had initially been part of the 2026 recruiting class but plans to reclassify to join Alabama for the 2025-26 season.

Onyejiaka, a 4-star recruit and the 11th-ranked center nationwide, garnered attention from several high-profile programs prior to his commitment, including Illinois, Indiana, West Virginia, and Providence. His talent is underscored by his previous ranking as the 95th overall player for the 2026 class.

Prior to securing Onyejiaka, Alabama boasted a 15th overall ranking in the 2025 recruiting cycle, featuring three top-100 prospects, including 4-star forward London Jemison, who ranks 38th nationally. Onyejiaka’s commitment adds to a revamped frontcourt for the Crimson Tide, which has also brought in notable transfers Taylor Bol Bown from Florida State and 7-footer Noah Williamson from Bucknell, both of whom earned 4-star transfer ratings.

With these new additions, Alabama is positioning itself for a strong future in SEC competition, aiming to enhance its stature as a formidable force in college basketball.
