The Alabama Port Authority, in collaboration with CSX, has begun construction on the Montgomery Intermodal Container Transfer Facility. This project is funded by former Senator Richard Shelby’s federal appropriations and has attracted over $3 billion in economic investments from private companies since its announcement in 2022.
