P&CMA Endorses Tommy Tuberville for Alabama Governor in 2026
The Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama (P&CMA), a prominent nonprofit trade association representing over 200 petroleum marketers and convenience store operators in the state, has formally endorsed U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville in his gubernatorial bid for Alabama in 2026. This endorsement, announced shortly after Tuberville’s campaign launch from Auburn, marks P&CMA as the first major trade association to openly back the Republican candidate.
Rex Jones, Chair of the P&CMA Board of Directors, expressed confidence in Tuberville’s understanding of challenges affecting Alabama’s energy and retail sectors. "Senator Tuberville will be a strong advocate for our members in Montgomery as our next Governor," Jones stated. He noted Tuberville’s commitment to economic growth, support for small businesses, and the importance of a reliable fuel supply, which are critical for Alabama’s economy.
P&CMA’s membership encompasses companies operating and supplying over 3,250 convenience stores statewide, providing nearly 60,000 jobs and playing a crucial role in Alabama’s energy infrastructure. The endorsement followed a vote by the association’s Board of Directors, comprised of industry owners and operators.
The 2026 Alabama Republican Party primary is set for May 19, 2026, and as of now, Tuberville has not faced any primary challengers. His campaign announcement has already attracted significant national attention, setting a promising tone as he positions himself for the gubernatorial race.
