MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama House voted nearly unanimously to adopt a $3.7 billion General Fund budget for fiscal year 2026, which includes additional funding for law enforcement and airport development. Rex Reynolds defended the cuts, stating that they were made due to a software process in the governor’s office but committed to reinstating them in the Senate if necessary.
The budget ultimately passed with a vote of 95-3, with some opposition from representatives who felt left out of the development process. The bill will now move to the Senate for further consideration.
