The Agriculture Exhibition Center Corporation has completed the purchase of 500 acres of land for the Alabama Farm Center at Hallmark Farm. The project, announced in September 2023, has now passed through due diligence and has a board in place led by Federation President Jimmy Parnell. The board includes various industry leaders appointed by key officials in the state.
Parnell praised the progress and the investment made by Alfa Insurance and the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation. The Farm Center is expected to be a hub for agricultural education and events, with plans for livestock shows, equestrian competitions, concerts, and more.
With the land purchase finalized, the AECC is now focusing on fundraising and site preparation. Board members are confident that the Alabama Farm Center will be a regional attraction benefiting the state’s economy and workforce. Jefferson County officials have expressed their support for the project, calling it a win for both the county and the state.
The AECC is now looking forward to the next phase of development and bringing the Farm Center to life. The project aims to provide educational and entertainment opportunities for Alabama’s residents and visitors, further solidifying the state’s reputation as a leader in agriculture.
