The DNC plans to launch digital advertisements and billboards highlighting Trump’s praise for Robinson, who is North Carolina’s lieutenant governor, in hopes of cutting into Trump’s support in the state. North Carolina, which Democrats have not won since 2008, could play a crucial role in a close presidential race. The advertisements will target North Carolina voters on YouTube and Facebook, while billboards will be placed across the state. Television advertisements linking Trump with Robinson are also being considered. Robinson has faced controversy over racist and antisemitic comments reported by CNN, which he has called “tabloid trash.” Trump has publicly praised Robinson, calling him “outstanding” and “one of the hottest politicians.” The Harris campaign has focused on North Carolina as a possible state to flip in November. A recent poll showed Harris with a slight lead over Trump in the state. The DNC is funneling millions of dollars in advertisement spending to North Carolina, reflecting the state’s significance in the upcoming election.
