3-year-old boy missing since February in Wisconsin identified through human remains

Human remains found on private property in Wisconsin have been identified as those of 3-year-old Elijah Vue, who went missing in February. The skeletal remains were found only three miles away from where the child was reported missing. Police Chief Benjamin Meinnert expressed devastation over the outcome, stating that the community had rallied around the search for Elijah. The discovery has now turned the search into a death investigation.

Elijah disappeared from an apartment in Two Rivers and was reportedly sent to stay with a man for disciplinary reasons. Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur, and the man, Jesse Vang, were charged with child neglect. Baur claimed she left her son with Vang to teach him “to be a man” and planned to pick him up later. The red and white plaid blanket Elijah was said to have had with him was found in a rural area between Manitowoc and Two Rivers in March.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities pledging to provide updates as new information becomes available. The tragic discovery has left the community devastated and mourning the loss of the young boy. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children and ensuring their well-being.
