Shogun, Hacks, and Baby Reindeer Take Home Major Wins at the Emmys | TV News


The 76th Emmy Awards honoured the best television of the past year, with the Japanese epic Shogun taking home a record 18 awards, the most for a single season. The historical drama won best drama series and lead acting awards for its Japanese stars. Other winners included the controversial Netflix drama Baby Reindeer for best limited series, with creator Josh Gadd and actress Jessica Gunning winning acting awards. Hacks, a comedy series about a 70-something comedian and millennial writer, won best comedy series.

The winners were chosen by members of Hollywood’s Television Academy, with nearly 22,000 performers, directors, and producers voting. The awards ceremony celebrated the diversity and talent of the television industry, with actors like Anna Sawai, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jeremy Allen White, Jean Smart, Richard Gadd, and Jodie Foster taking home top acting honors.

In addition to the major categories, supporting actors and actresses were also recognized, including Billy Crudup, Elizabeth Debicki, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colon-Zayas, Lamorne Morris, and Jessica Gunning.

The 76th Emmy Awards showcased the best of television and highlighted the outstanding performances and storytelling that captivated audiences over the past year. Shogun’s impressive 18 awards set a new record and solidified its place as a groundbreaking and acclaimed series in the television landscape.
