The 83rd edition of the Magic City Classic week is set to culminate with a showdown between the Alabama A&M Bulldogs and Alabama State Hornets on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Legion Field in Birmingham. The annual matchup is the largest HBCU Classic in the country, with Alabama A&M currently leading the series.
Classic week kicks off with the sold-out Green Carpet Affair at the Birmingham Museum of Art on Wednesday, followed by the Battle of the Choirs at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church. R&B star Fantasia is set to perform at the Magic City Classic Tailgate Festival at Railroad Park on Thursday.
The festivities continue on Friday with a live broadcast of The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, a Classic Food Truck Block Party, and the Classic Kid Capri Party at Regions Field.
On gameday, limited parking is available in advance for Lot F, and shuttle services will be provided from various locations to Legion Field and back. The Magic City Classic Parade will take place in downtown Birmingham with actor Omari Hardwick serving as this year’s Classic ambassador. Before the game, a free Coors Light Tailgate Party will offer entertainment and giveaways.
The highly anticipated Magic City Classic Football Game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. at Legion Field on Saturday, with gates opening at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase via the Magic City Classic website and at the stadium’s Gate 7C. Make sure to adhere to the clear bag policy and have a ticket to enter, including children. Shuttles will also be available for transportation to the game for a fee.
